Terms of Service
Last updated
Welcome to Joudie. We're here to connect brands with talented creators for high-quality photo and video content. These terms explain how things work when you use our platform, whether you're booking a shoot or delivering one. By using Joudie, you're agreeing to everything below. If anything feels unclear, just reach out — we're always happy to help.
Definitions
When we say ‘client’, we mean the person or company booking the shoot. A ‘creator’ is the photographer or videographer doing the job. ‘We’, ‘us’ or ‘Joudie’ refers to our team and platform.
Account Responsibilities
You’re responsible for keeping your account details safe. Any activity that happens under your account is your responsibility. If you notice any unauthorised use of your account, please let us know straight away.
Bookings and Payments
When a client books a shoot through Joudie, they agree to pay the full amount upfront. The payment is held securely by Joudie and only released to the creator once the job is completed and the final files have been delivered. We don’t take a platform fee — the only charge is the Stripe payment processing fee. We’ll release the payment to the creator five working days after the final content is delivered, which gives the client time to review the work. Tipping is allowed and goes directly to the creator.
When a client submits a brief, we’ll come back within 72 hours with up to three creator options. Before that, we’ll check availability with each creator. Since things move quickly, creators have 4 hours to confirm if they’re available before we move on. Once the client chooses a creator and pays, the booking is confirmed.
Cancellations and Refunds
If a client cancels more than 48 hours before the shoot, we’ll review the situation and may offer a partial or full refund depending on any costs already incurred. Cancellations within 48 hours of the shoot are non-refundable.
If a client is more than 45 minutes late to a shoot, it will be considered a no-show and the creator can leave. In that case, the booking is non-refundable.
If a creator is late or doesn’t show up, the client will either be fully refunded or the shoot will be rearranged — whichever works best. Creators who don’t meet the standard we expect may be removed from the platform.
Our goal is to be fair to both sides while keeping things smooth and stress-free.
Things Outside Our Control
Sometimes, things happen that nobody can predict or prevent — like extreme weather, pandemics, or transport strikes. If a shoot is cancelled because of an event like this, we’ll work with both the client and creator to reschedule or issue a full refund.
Delivery and Revisions
Delivery timelines will be shared when we present the creator options to the client. After the shoot, creators submit the content to us first so we can check it over. Then we’ll send a preview to the client.
If the package includes editing, the client can select which files they’d like edited. Additional edits or revisions that fall outside of the original brief may cost extra, but we’ll always let you know in advance.
If we don’t hear back within five working days of sharing the preview, we’ll consider it approved and deliver the final files as they are. Once final content has been sent, the job is considered complete. Any changes after that would need to be booked as a new shoot.
Use of Content
Clients are free to use the delivered content for their business. Creators can also use the work for their own portfolios. Joudie may showcase some of the work on our own channels, including the website and social media. If you’d like the content to stay private, just let us know before the shoot and we’ll make sure that’s respected. When creators use the work in their portfolios, we expect it to be presented professionally and respectfully.
Creators must let us know upfront if they have any specific licensing requirements for a job. If nothing is mentioned, the default is that the client, creator, and Joudie can all use the content freely. For jobs involving bigger commercial brands, the creator will always have a chance to see the brief before confirming, and can flag any licensing terms at that point. We’ll include any special terms when sharing creator options with the client.
Behaviour and Expectations
Everyone using Joudie is expected to communicate clearly, show up on time, and treat each other with respect. Clients must provide a clear brief when making a request, and any changes to that brief must be shared at least 48 hours before the shoot so we can make adjustments if needed. Clients are responsible for making sure everything they need for the shoot is ready in advance.
Creators are expected to act professionally, deliver high-quality work, and stay within the agreed brief. All creators must have their own equipment and their own insurance — Joudie is not responsible for anything that happens during the shoot.
We manually vet every creator before allowing them on the platform. If a creator consistently delivers poor work or causes issues for clients, we reserve the right to remove them.
Termination
We want Joudie to be a positive place for everyone. We reserve the right to suspend or remove access for anyone who consistently breaches these terms or harms the experience for other users.
Disputes
If something goes wrong, we’ll step in to help. We aim to resolve any issues quickly and fairly, but the final decision rests with us. Our role is to protect both clients and creators, so we’ll always look at the full picture before making a call.
Liability
We set up the connection, but what happens during the shoot is between the client and creator. Joudie isn’t liable for anything that happens during a shoot, including delays, poor communication, damaged equipment, or missed deadlines. It’s up to both the client and the creator to make sure expectations are clear and everything is properly arranged. Creators must carry their own insurance and are responsible for their own gear and conduct. Clients must provide safe and appropriate working conditions. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the maximum we’ll ever be responsible for is the total amount of the booking fee.
Jurisdiction
Joudie Limited (16582825) is a company registered in the United Kingdom. These terms are governed by and interpreted under UK law.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we’ll make it clear on the site. By continuing to use Joudie, you’re agreeing to any updates.
